Taking a Blended Approach to DiSC Training

The Question: I have been asked to do a customer service training project using the DiSC Classic 2 Plus assessment…but the client wants to minimize actual in-class training time by using online courses and other non-classroom training resources. Can you help me put together a ‘blended’ approach to help these folks learn about DiSC?
Dee Clarke Responds: Thankfully, there are now many resources that will help you provide a rich DiSC learning experience and yet save on actual in-classroom time. To begin with, the online DiSC assessment through EPIC can be done as pre-work so that class time is not taken up with responding to and scoring the profile. And using technology to learn DiSC does not have to stop there!
In fact, we have developed a project schedule and timeline for a Customer Service training project that needed a blended approach because the Service Reps were geographically disbursed around the United States and bringing them together for classroom work was very difficult. This client wanted to teach DiSC with NO in-classroom time. Click here to download the project plan.
Even though this example has no in-person classroom time, I think you can easily see where some of the tele-conference/webinar suggestions, and even some of the weekly email exchanges, could be set up as in-person classroom activity, if scheduling in- person learning time was an easier task for you to accomplish.
(And if your application focus was in management, team building, or sales, this plan can easily work as well, since there are CRKI online courses and EPIC Action Planners for those specific applications.)
I hope the information found in this plan jump-starts your creativity as to how you can conduct an effective DiSC learning project, even with limited in-classroom time.
Please contact us if we can help you with more specifics on your particular project.
